Local Heroes Visit Sudie’s

Restaurant Hosts Politicians, Nuns and Bikers

What do Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word and Houston-area bikers have in common? They all visited Sudie’s Seafood House in October.

Supporters and constituents for Texas State Senator Mike Jackson went to Sudie’s Seafood House Oct. 14 for a breakfast fundraiser in support of his reelection. U.S. Senator Hutchison also attended to deliver a keynote address for the event.

A second fundraiser that recently roared into Sudie’s parking lot was the 4th annual Nun Run. Each year, Houston-area bikers give a motorcycle ride to nuns from the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in support of the children and families of CHRISTUS Southwest Community Health Center. Proceeds from the run buy holiday presents for 500 needy children and gift certificates for food for their families. This year, Sudie's was the last stop on the ride for all participants to enjoy lunch before heading back to Houston.

"Since our Southern menu appeals to such a wide audience, both Sudie's locations have often been used to host fundraisers and other local events" said Paul Bailey, owner of Sudie's. "We specifically built Sudie's Seafood House with enough room to hold both small and large gatherings. We enjoy hosting events like the Nun Run, and we're glad our space is being utilized for such great causes."

Sudie's Seafood House in League City, Texas, and Sudie's Catfish House in Pasadena, Texas, are both family-oriented restaurants that offer made-from-scratch menu items that include broiled and fried farm-raised Mississippi catfish, "hand-dipped" butterflied shrimp and other delicious Southern entrees. Part of Bailey’s Family Restaurants, Sudie's serves great home-style meals in a fun and casual atmosphere. Sudie’s also provides on-site catering and a bulk-to-go menu for any event.
