Sudie’s Goes “Extreme”

Texas Eatery Lends a Hand

Last month, Texas seafood restaurant, Sudie’s Seafood House, catered dinner to more than 450 workers and crew members at reality TV show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’s work site in Kemah, Texas.

Sudie's catering truck arrives to serve dinner for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition volunteers at the worksite in Kemah, Texas.

Upon arriving at the local Extreme Makeover build benefitting the Beach family, the Sudie’s catering crew set up their state-of-the-art catering trailer and cooked Sudie’s famous catfish and fried shrimp on-site. Sudie’s owner, Paul Bailey, agreed to donate dinner for a crowd of 250 workers.

Much to the surprise of Sudie’s staff, an extremely long line began to form around the large, white catering tent, and it was soon apparent that food for 250 people was not going to last very long. Sudie’s crew went to work, and made enough food to feed nearly 500 Extreme Makeover volunteers.

“We are truly grateful for the opportunity to help the Beach family by doing what we do best—making delicious seafood,” said Bailey. “I’m really proud of my team and vendors, who made it possible to deliver such great food to so many volunteers.”

Sudie’s vendors stepped up to the plate by donating food for the catering. Contributing vendors include Robbins-Dean Food Distribution, Marine Foods Express, Sysco, and Brother’s Produce. According to the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition staff, the episode about the Beach family is slated to be aired in March on ABC.
